Research project to understand the attitudes and behaviour of parents and guardians in relation to early years care and education
(Temporary freelance work with IAITH: Welsh Centre for language planning funded by the Welsh Government)
The work and the person: An exciting opportunity is offered to join this research project team over a period of up to 4-5 months (to start as soon as possible in May 2019 and to finish in August or September 2018). The community researcher will be expected to assist with evidence gathering in one of the ten project research areas.
The research project: The Welsh Government has commissioned IAITH to undertake research on the reasons why parents and guardians choose not to take up formal childcare and early years foundation phase nursery education. The aim of this research is to understand the reasons why parents and guardians choose not to take up these services and what motivates parents and guardians to make choices around early years education and care. The research is based in ten areas across Wales. It is aimed to include 10 or more parents and guardians in the research in each area.
