Over the next seven months IAITH will be collaborating closely with our partners at the University of Edinburgh to complete the review. The work will be conducted by Dr Kathryn Jones and Prof Colin H Williams on behalf of IAITH and Prof Wilson McLeod, Prof Rob Dunbar and Dr Stuart Dunmore on behalf of the University of Edinburgh.

“We look forward to getting to grips with this significant task“, said Kathryn Jones, IAITH’s Director of Policy and Research. “IAITH’s international experiences and the Scottish expertise of our Edinburgh partners makes for a strong team approach. We are honoured that the Bòrd has entrusted us with this key piece of work”.

The commission from Bòrd na Gàidhlig comes at the close of a year that saw IAITH work closely with Cornwall Council developing a ten year strategy for the Cornish language. Gareth Ioan, IAITH CEO said, “As Wales’ leading language planning agency IAITH are delighted to be able to play our part in promoting all the indigenous Celtic languages of Britain”.
