A Million Welsh Speakers by 2050: Language Planners Wales Response

Over the last few weeks, staff at IAITH have been busy preparing Language Planners Wales response to Welsh Government’s draft strategy ‘A Million Welsh Speakers by 2050’.  


This document is a result of a series of consultation meetings held by Language Planners Wales. The following meetings took place: 

  • Consultation Working Group - Aberystwyth University, 20 Septemer 2016
  • Consultation Working Group – Aberystwyth University, 10 October 2016
  • Consultation Working Group – IAITH office, Abergele, 11 October 2016
  • Consultation Working Group - Pontypridd National Lido, 12 October 2016

Over 40 LPW members contributed to these meetings and contributions were also received by e-mail by other members. LPW is a group of professionals working in the language planning and policy field – as consultants, academics and practitioners.
