Health, social services and social care

IAITH has extensive experience of working across health and social care to provide training, research and development and consultancy.

For more than 30 years  IAITH have been at the forefront of developing new training resources and providing language awareness training for the sector. Amongst our customers are the Care Council for Wales; Department of Health and Social Services, Welsh Government; Welsh Language Commissioner; National Welsh-medium College and numerous local authorities, health boards and large social care charities.

In 2015 we were pleased to be able to develop the first ever bilingual MOOC (Massive Open On-line Course) on the Welsh language for social work students in Wales for the National Welsh-medium College.

IAITH was also responsible for undertaking the qualitative research for Welsh Government which formed the back-drop to the Mwy na geiriau (More than just words) strategy.

We have the experience, the understanding and expertise to be able to:

  • deliver training courses or shorter workshops addressing More than just words and its effective implementation
  • provide a range of research, development and consultancy services on Welsh language use and development across health and social care
  • tailor services and training delivery to meet your precise needs
