In its January meeting a new Chair was appointed by the IAITH Board of Directors. Gareth Ioan’s appointment follows a substantial and valued period of leadership by Owen Llywelyn.

IAITH has new Chair

Gareth is no stranger to IAITH as he served as IAITH CEO between 1997 and 2016. He currently works as a freelance consultant on language and cultural issues and is a member of IAITH’s associate team.

“I look forward to this new challenge”, said Gareth. “IAITH staff, directors and associates are the foremost policy and language team in Europe. It’s an honour for me to be asked to contribute again in this new role. I very much look forward to collaborating with Dr Kathryn Jones, our MD, to ensure that IAITH continues to be a lead and pioneering LPP agency for years to come”.

Dr Kathryn Jones expressed her thanks to Owen Llywelyn for his sterling service as past Chair. “We’re indebted to Owen for his leadership over the past years and are looking forward to further develop the company with Gareth as Chair. There are many opportunities on the horizon and we have new developments and services in the pipeline. It’s an exciting time for language and policy and planning in Wales”.
